Has anyone else recognized that Jerry Douglas is doing a terrible job as Alistar? He is supposed to have an accent, the dumb noodle. When he first showed up he
had an accent since he was from Ireland but that bad impersonation of an accent lasted only about 2 days. Since then he has given it up all together and has
resorted to the lame writing to make him sound credible. I cringe every time he is on because he is so bad in this role it is embarrassing.

I think he told Jack and Sharon that his accent was fake, that it was an act to be a more compelling figure. There isn't much reason for him to continue
the phony Irish accent if everyone knows he's a fake. But maybe I imagined all of that.

Thanks Erda. I don't remember seeing that. Maybe it happened during one of those times I was FF through anything Amber, anything Lily, Gloria, most of
Nikki and yuk boy, and lately Butinsky Jill and got carried away with the FF button! Writing what I just did made me think, why in the heck am I still watching
this show

It was a really brief moment in Jack and Sharon's getting to know Alistair. I wasn't sure I even heard it right.
I'm preferring the not-so-proper Alistar to the dull-and-dignified John Abbott. Maybe this was what the actor needed to keep him around.

I thought that Alistair was attempting a Scottish brogue. Regardless, Alistair did tell Jack and Sharon that it was a fake accent and he had decided to stop
using it.
I personally don't see the need for Alistair at all. I know TIIC are trying to somehow correct LML's huge error in killing off John Abbott but they're just making things worse by bringing Alistair on. Some mistakes we have to live with; killing off John Abbott is one of them. I wouldn't mind seeing John appear to Jack as Jack's conscience sometimes but this Alistair stuff has got to go.

Yes, the accent was fake, so no need for it now.
Jerry Douglas is a hoot, but the character is now more of a characature than a character. But since I have missed seeing him, I tolerate the silliness of Alistair. I prefer that to the love/hate Jeff & Glo situation of late.
