I have not been able to sleep all night because I have been worried about my son flying over the ocean for 15 hours to Australia by way of New Zealand, so
if some parts are a little loopy, bear with me please. If I dont write it now I will forget and never write it.
During the conversation between Brooke and Katie, Brooke made it clear that she wants her daughter to be happy with Nick and didn't want Katie mucking that
up. Brooke loves her sister dearly and has done everything she could possible do to help her get better. No question that she wants her sister well and happy.
But but but but.....the doctor with a giant S on her stethoscope comes first before Brookes own sister as well it should. Only a good mom would go to bat for a
child that way.

vicgirl, when is your son's plane supposed to land? Man, what a long flight that would be. I bet he's pacing up and down the aisle, eager to get
going.
How old is he, 22? Did he go with a group of students or solo? Is he going to be living with a family there or staying in a dorm? Is it like an exchange student program or is he going to graduate school there? He's got to be so excited! Yeah, it is nice that Brooke is looking out for Bridget. She should. |

Wow, Australia! That sounds like a wonderful trip! New Zealand is great, too; my Uncle goes there all the time and just loves it. Is your son going there for
school or a vacation? Whatever it is, I hope he has a great time.
Well, since I hate Nick, I think I would rather see Brooke encourage Bridget to not get involved with Nick at all since it's pretty much guaranteed that he's going to break Bridget's heart again. But I guess that ship has already sailed because Bridget is in deep. So, yes, it's good that Brooke told Katie to back off.

He finally arrived to Sydney and is rooming with 4 other guys in a dorm like building close to where he will attend college. He has been planning and saving
for this trip for a couple of years. He is 19 but I can't tell you how hard it was to leave him at the airport all alone. But he is so excited at ths great
adventure of his that I have to be happy for him. Thanks for asking!

LLoather! lol. I think Brook right now sincerely wants Bridget to be happy, but the problem I have with her now is that she KNOWS Nick and Katie have a thingy
going on and like you said is encouraging Bridget to be with Icky Marone. If that were my daughter, I'd be fighting with her to USE YOUR DAMNED HEAD.
Bridget's only in for big time heartache and even Stevie Wonder can see that one coming a mile off.

Sue, you're absolutely right, Brooke ought to be encouraging Bridget to find another man - any other man - besides Nick. Brooke better than anybody
knows Nick cannot be trusted.

I know Brooke and Bridget think Nick Marone is Mr. Wonderful but, it does look like somebody in that family could have some sense and ask "WHAT do you all
see in him?'
How about their father? Couldn't he be the voice of reason? Or even eric, couldn't he take his mind off Jugs for a second and encourage Bridget to stop setting herself up to fail with a man who is, at best, only fond of her? Bridget's happiest when she's miserable so, maybe she knows what she's doing. |

Well, since Eric barely batted an eye when he found out that Brooke and Deacon had an affair and got pregnant by him, I seriously doubt that Bridget's
impending doomed marrige to Nick the Prick is even a blip on his radar screen. Bridget is on her own in this. Maybe when Nick dumps her AGAIN for Brooke, or
Katie, or hell, even Donna, then maybe Bridget will finally understand that Popeye is no good for her.

Oh I almost gagged today when Nick responded to Bridget's little speech at the cookout with his own NAUTICAL version.
Can't Jack Wagner ask them to stop making Nick sound like an Old Spice commercial? Why doesn't he just carry one of those whistles they blow when the captain walks on board? He could blow it every time Brooke walked by! I just hope when they recite their vows Nick bursts into lines from that song Brandy" "Bridget you're a fine girl, What a good wife you would be But my life my love and my lady is the SEA!"

LL, I've never heard SMELLY CAT before but it does sound appropriate! Sue - It will be interesting, won't it? To see if Brooke can stick to her promise.... Most of us would be horrified to have our mother promising never, ever to sleep with our husband (again) but in Brooke & Bridget's case, it's normal as Apple Pie. |

Now I think Brooke did a good thing reassuring Bridget. Granted it is not on the top ten list of things a daughter wants to hear from her mother on her wedding day, but considering the history of both these women and Nick, it was strangely appropriate.
