That is so tragic. A woman I worked with had to endure the deaths of both her children, 2 sons in their early 20's from anurysms of the brain. They just dropped dead in their tracks. One of them had just put his keys in his car door and opened it but never made it inside. They found him dead lying next to his car in the parking lot where he worked.
I think when the first brother died they had the other one checked and actually found his anurysm. I can't remember why it wasn't surgically corrected. Maybe it was inoperable.
My father has a triple A (abdominal aortic anurysm) that was discovered during stomach surgery for a blown out peptic ulcer. He has it measured every 6 months and it just recently had gotten a tad bigger. Still not quite big enough for surgery yet. The doctor said anurysms run in families and that all us kids ought to get checked, too. We really should do that.
LL, did your friend have any siblings? They might better see about getting checked.
