Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None You know, Brooke really makes me sick she is soo transparent its not even funny now just a few months back, she was constantly in Nick's face, in Taylor's face about baby Jack. Brooke didn't step foot into Nick's after he started screwing Budge, not once did she ask about Jack. Brooke finally comes over for Katies party, not once did she ask about Jack, then she came back again for the beautiful prom night, still no asking, came back for the miracle drug in IV night, still no asking. Jack was in the house when Brooke and Donna arrived, still no asking about Jack, nor did she ask to hold him. see the transparent part is.....It was all about Taylor and trying to take what life she made for herself. now that Taylor won custody and kept Jack the whole while Katie was sick, she has no use for Jack. tsk, tsk

Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	LL - Brooke's got a whole passle of brats (to quote Scarlett O'Hara) that she ignores. Shoot, she never even pays any attention to Bridget unless she's sleeping with Nick or Rick unless he's sleeping with Taylor. It does look like she could have pretended to be interested in jack when she was not 10 FEET AWAY FROM HIM at Nick's house but hey - why fake it? Either you love your children or you don't. And it's not like the shameful way she treats her little children ever impacts their idiot fathers. None of them gives a crap how bad a mother she is, they'd all still love to jump her bones if she'd let them - including eric. And to think Nick ran Taylor off just so Brooke could turn around, go home to Ridge and ignore him and THE BOY! Jack's better off without her. Thank God Taylor got custody.

Of course what Samantha said about Brooke is all true, but it IS also bad writing. I mean, this jumping from storyline to storyline is just so unbelievable, it can´t work in anyones favour. Or why else would Brooke be so "disgusted" about Taylor dating Rick when she herself has no problems with sleeping with her daughter boyfriends. And of course NOBODY reminds her of that when she swings herself on the moral high horse. It´s ridiculous.

Like, just have Brooke be seen holding Jack for a few minutes while she's there visiting Katie. Then all the viewers have to say, well, at least she's acknowledging that the baby is in the house. But then, Brooke has always used her children to get what she wants and then banished them to the nursery not to be seen or heard from again til she needs to trot them out to lay another man trap. So maybe Brad Bell is trying to tell us he's writing Brooke the way she IS.

You can't judge a mother's fitness for motherhood if the writers choose not to write about the kids! You can judge their motherliness when and if a sl comes along that focuses on that. Sheesh. Are we supposed to just fill in the blanks and assume she's a good mom? Why should we? They write her character as the type of mother who doesn't spend a lot of time with her kids. She is written as the kind of mother who spends her time chasing men and using the kids as bait. THAT's how they writer her. Just like they write Stephanie as the kind of mother who has a favorite child that she gives almost all of her time and attention. WHY would we assume she's just as concerned about Thorne, Felicia and Kristen as she is about Ridge when the writers DON'T write her that way? Steph's younger children readily admit that their mother dotes on Ridge and Bridget has said many times that she spent her childhood watching her mother spend every waking moment chasing her sorry soulmate. This is the way the characters ARE written. We got to go with what they give us - or else just write our own fan fiction where Brooke & Steph are both Mothers of the Year. And it IS bizarre that after nearly driving Taylor insane over Jack, Brooke has suddenly gone mute on the subject. The conclusion that the WRITERS must want us to draw is that Brooke is no longer that interested in the baby. We haven't even heard her say his name and she's been in Nick's presence constantly. They WRITE Stephanie's character that way as an overly involved to the point of obsession, mother. No other character is written that way. When Taylor was sucking face with Rick, she wasn't rhaposidizing about Jack of Phoebe or any of the kids until the sl revolved around to talking about the impact of her actions on Phoebe. Why doesn't anyone ever question her devotion. Oh, nevermind, she is the saint. "Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle."

Actually I thought the whole Taylor/Rick development revolved around the custody loss of Jack and the impact it might have on Phoebe. Taylor tried to calm Rick down and keep him at a distance more than once because of Phoebe. I am not a Taylor fan or a Brooke hater, but I do think Brooke is written to be a dedicated and also a pretty horrible mother. I mean, not stopping at stealing her daughters husband is a pretty big deal and having it done twice forms a pattern. However, it seems to me that more of Brookes storylines involve her relationships being somewhat connected to her kids. They are written to be more dramatic and more consuming and as a result the children almost "naturally" seem to fall over the edge. Taylor faked her death (I think twice?) and left her kids to be raised by others (Brooke, interestingly enough), which is also not exactly a sign of flawless motherhood. But overall I do believe she is written to put her kids first. I mean a lot of the drama that surrounded the Rick/Taylor relationship had to do with her not wanting to commit to Rick (despite his pushyness) because of Phoebe. And when Phoebe said she couldn´t accept it, she ended it stat. Thinking about it, I don´t think there is one mother on this show I would call being without major flaws. Stephanie favouring her son to some kind of obsessive behavior is pretty odd and actually rather cruel too. Jacky´s obsession over Nickeee and Brooke feels creepy to me and her general interest in her very grown-up son´s lovelife is somewhat odd at least. Ashley might be a good mother, but we haven´t seen much of that yet or have we? The way Donna agrees to hide Marcus from Eric is pretty bad too. Instead of being so happy and proud that she shoults it from the rooftops, she seems rather willing to hide it. Who else is a mother on that show? Last Edited By: PaulaLi 06/21/08 06:37. Okay, mission accomplished - she broke up their marriage and if it hadn't been for Rick helping Taylor, Nick probably would have been granted full custody. So now WHERE is Brooke's interest in the baby? She's not being written as having any. WHY then should we assume that she does?????

My point is that to assume she has no interest in the child is a fallacy at best. The character can't speak of him if the writers don't put it in the script! Trust me, at some point, this will come front and center again and she will more than interested in Jack's welfare, probably inappropriately so. Paula you make a good point about all the mothers on this show being flawed. I get my hackles up when Brooke is singled out to the degree that she is the only one who is so flawed that she must be the anti-Christ. Ridge dumped her for Caroline so, Brooke managed to get herself pregnant by the next best thing - eric - so she could become a Forrester and not just fade into Ridge's past like all his other exgirlfriends. She was having sex with eric and Ridge at the same time when she got pregnant with Bridget and tried to pass HER off as Ridge's kid. She had an agenda when she had BOTH those children and once they served their purpose, they were pretty much left to raise themselves except for those times when (to QUOTE Bridget) her mother was crying her brains out over Ridge and youngster Bridget had to "take care of her." I'm not even going to get into the kind of mother who would sleep with her own daughter's husband and have HIS baby (I'm sure vigirl would once again blame those bad old writers!) RJ - god bless him, poor kid. I don't think either of his parents give a flying fig about him but Brooke sure did USE him when she was trying to get Ridge to break off his engagement to Ashley. Since then, we ain't seen no RJ. And then we get down to little Jack - the baby that Brooke didn't want to have with Nick but who by some twisted joke of fate turnes out to be hers - Brooke (with Nick's help) almost drove Taylor insane trying to take that kid away from her because Brooke loved him SO much... But now, he doesn't even register on Brooke's radar screen to the point that she asks "So, how's MY SON?" Remember how she used to call him that in front of Taylor every chance she got? So IMO, Brooke is being WRITTEN as a negligent, unimvolved mother. She has been since she dropped baby Rick off with his first babysitter - the day he was born - to free up her time for Ridge chasing.

We have always seen Taylor put her kids first. as for Brooke and Vic Girl's stance about children not being seen, nonsense, Jack was on-screen those days I mentioned, heck, he was even in the house and Budge even called him her little boy and thanked Taylor for keeping him(she's a whole new thread) Brooke did not even ask about the baby not once!

But wasn´t Taylor supposed to be dead twice? I suppose she couldn´t help being abducted, but what happened when she was sick with TB? It´s debatable a sign of great motherhood, letting your kids believe you are dead and let them experience the loss of their mother instead of letting them see you sick. And how long was she abducted? As I said, I don´t think there was fault in her behavior when she fell for Rick and how she dealt with Phoebe. And Brooke did loose a lot of credibility in being a good mom when she slept with her daughters husbands twice. And didn´t she steal Nick away from Budge twice? That would make it three times. She is a passionate mother, but she is not constantly written to put her kids first that´s for sure. Btw. back to the original topic: Has anyone else the feeling that Nick is getting in the game again with Brooke now that he does all these nice things for Katie? The first time she was mugged in Morocco and she was thought to have died in a plane crash. She was in a coma for months and when she finally regained consciousness she had no memory of who she was. The second time (after the shooting) she slipped into a coma and Prince Omar stole her body from the hospital and returned her to Morocco where he nursed her back to health. Once Taylor regained her memory she tried to escape to get home to her family (BTW she didn't even have children the first time she was held captive in Morocco). Both incidents she was held against her will by Prince Omar until she was able to escape. No where was it ever scripted that Taylor allowed her children or anyone else she cared about to think she was dead. That's not Taylor's MO. Taylor has always been written as putting her children first before any man even Ridge -- something Brooke never did. When Taylor gave birth to the twins she had TB. She died for a few moments while still in the delivery room, but once she was given the proper medications and got her health back she was there for her children. FYI Taylor even quit working for several years just to raise her small children until they started school. The writers have made a point (many times through the years) to show the difference between the parental skills of Taylor and Brooke.

Well, as I said I missed a lot of that and obviously the snippets I remembered aren´t correct! So, it wasn´t Taylors fault then that she was away for so long. Seriously guys, I am not attacking the character, I just had it in my mind that she was presumed dead twice and only came back after a couple of years. No biggie. What interests me more at the moment is the feeling that Brooke seems to discover Nick again. The hugging and "what am I to do with you" makes me think that we maybe get a reprisal of the Nick/Brooke romance crap. Maybe I am seeing things, I certainly hope so.
