I always have the worst time getting people to RSVP. I don't know if it's just my friends or if it's just something that people don't do anymore. I mean, how can you plan a party with food without knowing who is going to be there. We are talking 1/2 of the invites haven't let me know and it's only a week away. It's not just a few. Maybe it's me...
So my question is, do you plan for everyone to be there and have enough food as if they were all to show up or do you get in touch with them and hopefully make them feel like schmucks about not RSVP'ing? Here's what I did, but I don't know if this was tacky or not. For the people who hadn't RSVP'd, I sent out an email, using the BCC feature so they all wouldn't know who was being emailed. I just said that I needed a headcount to buy the right amount of food and reiterated the party details in case they had misplaced their invites. Was that tacky? Would you just have bought enough food to feed everyone as if they had RSVP'd?
What I don't get is when people say "we will see what's happening that weekend" as their RSVP. It's like they are saying they are waiting to see if they get a better offer. Why can't they commit?
I know i did a poll about this a while back and some of us do and some of us don't RSVP.
BTW, Sarah RSVP'd. She always RSVP's. She's AWESOME and I can't wait to see her and the fam. I've not met Daniel yet and am so excited!
