Just a little note to say Hello to present and new members here at The Soap Spa.
Our present members are the absolute BEST on the internet! We pride ourselves on the fact that we don't need a set of rules the length of my arm to have a harmonious little hangout! I mean, I read things on other boards, all the bickering, sulking and tattling and I just think to myself, "WHY?" I've seen Admins ready to pull their hair out of their heads from getting swamped with emails complaining about this one complaining about that one. I just don't get it. That doesn't happen here. I have not once gotten an email from anyone saying, "So and so is bothering me," or "So and so is picking on my favorite character." It just doesn't happen here. Why, I'm not really sure. I seem to think it's because even though we're all very different here, personality-wise, we all have a few key traits in common. We all respect each other and we all conduct ourselves with maturity. When we have differences of opinions, we don't get ugly -- we keep our cool. I think my dearest friend/mod, Teach, said it best, "even though we may disagree, at the end of the day we're all friends!" That's pretty much it! And I think that most of us here realize that it's JUST a message board. It's for fun... but it certainly isn't our lives. The types of people who are attracted to this board seem to be those who are similar to us -- the types of people who are able to keep things in perspective. Some of us know what it's like to post at a board where you can't really relax... and that's why this board was founded. So we can relax, hang with our friends, let our hair down, and escape from the real world for a few minutes here and there. We all use our common sense here, so we have no need for stupid rules that say, "Don't put a spoiler in the title," or "if you're unruly you'll get a little yellow warning box underneath your name." It's just all about respect and common sense.
Anyway, sorry, didn't mean to make this so long-winded. I guess I just wanted to brag about our board here a little! So sue me!
So if by some chance, you happen to stumble across our little special little gathering place here, by all means, say "Hi" -- we all get excited to meet new people here! Shoot, we all get excited just seeing new names visiting at the bottom of the page!!
Hopefully we'll have more Chat Room Parties here as well, so if you're new, feel free to pop in! The more the merrier. Smoothies on the house! Careful though, Kathy's been known to spike the blender!
